This paper significantly represents the role of basic language skills and different approaches and aspects on the English writing skill development in the students of secondary level in the schools. It is observed that understanding writing systematically not only guarantees successful writing outcomes but also leads to the acquisition of a secondary set of language-related abilities which is highly required among the students to get education. The different approaches are used in informed selection of grammar and lexical structures; a logical pattern of organization in the development of idea related to English language. There are four approved language learning skills, and each of has a pivot role to play in the life of the learner i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. It is an attempt to produce an overview of the language learning skills and the necessity of developing each of them in the students and the special focus is on the ongoing trends of the English writing learning skill and its development. English writing is a complex activity which brings several problems and challenges to the learners at the different levels. These problems are especially faced by the students who are in the secondary classes. The necessity, approaches and global aspects of English writing skills are discussed.
