EMPLOYED WOMEN AND THE EFFECT OF PRESSURE CONTROL RESOURCES ON THEIR FAMILY AND JOB ROLES

Women have encountered difficulties by having both occupational and family roles. Therefore, the objective of this paper was to find out whether resources such as expected job, family roles, control of work, employment, or family support could have a positive effect on reducing stress and could be beneficial to the dual roles of employed women. The population of this study consisted of working couple families living in Tehran. Multi-stage stratified sampling method was used. The sample consisted of 648 men and women. The findings indicated that duties and responsibilities of family and career roles between men and women are unequally distributed. The findings also revealed that pressure control resources had a positive effect on reducing stress and were also beneficial to the dual roles of employed women.
