Abstract

The present study developed an efficient in vitro propagation protocol for Andrographis lobelioides. The maximum percentage of callus induction (92.0%) was achieved on 1.0 mg/L BAP with combination of 0.1mg/L Kn. Shoot multiplication of A. lobelioides was observed on 10.3±0.41 shoots per explants cultured on 0.5 mg/L BA with 0.05 mg/L IAA respectively. The highest number of roots (35.6±0.48 roots/shoot) and 95.9±0.51 roots/shoot were obtained on half strength MS medium supplemented with 0.6 mg/L IBA. This is the first report on in vitro regeneration of species Andrographis lobelioides.
