Among different medicinal plants, Aloe vera has its importance since ancient times. It is extensively used in Ayurvedic, homoeopathic and Allopathic system of medicine. Found widely distributed around the tropical parts of the world and has turned out to be an expensive commercial commodity. It had led to its worldwide cultivation. Each constituent of its gel is of great medicinal value. This review article throws a light on various aspects of Aloe vera, ranging from its morphology, various species and its therapeutic use to cure many diseases.
