Abstract

Mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection is the surgical procedure of choice necessary for the
treatment of breast cancer and women are susceptible to develop upper limb edema known as
lymphedema. Therefore, it becomes essential for nursing and given its importance, to provide
educational support for prevention of lymphedema, which is the main potential complication with
serious repercussions on the quality of life of women.
