Fusion has been extensively studied promising it to be endless source of energy. However, it has not
been able to get enough success due to poor mechanical, structural and thermal design coupled with
poor materials selection for different segments of reactor which evolve into parts. Unfortunately, no
effort exists to address this gap. In this study, which is a part of series of proposals, an effort has been
made to enumerate different method and techniques to make plasma facing materials till date with an
aim to select a suitable material for first wall. Resulting selection agrees well with established physical
metallurgy and crystallography.
